Creating a Field Service Order

You create a field service order in MDS as a normal invoice. The only difference is when you post the order.

  1. Select SALES | INVOICE CREATION.

Micronet displays the Invoice Creation screen.

  1. Enter a Debtors Number or select a debtor from the list.

Micronet displays the Invoice Header screen.

  1. Enter the header details as required then select PROCEED or press F2.

Micronet redisplays the Invoice Creation screen.

  1. Select the Add button to add items to the invoice.

Micronet displays the Enter Invoice Line screen.

  1. Enter the item and quantity to be added to the order.

You don't need to add labour lines to the order. Labour lines are created automatically when the order is completed on the PDA and sent back to Micronet.

  1. Select Accept to save your changes and then Cancel.

Micronet redisplays the Invoice Creation screen.

  1. To save the invoice as a field service order, select FILE | PAPERLESS PICKING | PAPERLESS FIELD SERVICE.

Micronet saves the order, assigns the field service order number, and puts the stock lines on hold. The order then waits in the paperless queue to be assigned to a field service employee via the Wide Warehouse Scheduler - Field Service tab. In all other respects, the field service order behaves the same way as a paperless slip.
